THE DETAILS MATTER
Terms of Service
A shared understanding for the stories we explore together.
01. About these terms
These proposed Terms of Service describe the rules for using the YouPlot website and iOS application (the “Service”). YouPlot offers interactive stories and conversations with AI characters.
Before these terms take effect: the legal name and address of the company operating YouPlot, its contact information, supported regions and effective date must be added. This draft does not identify a contracting entity and is not presented for acceptance.
02. Eligibility and accounts
You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating an account, protecting access to your email and device, and using only accounts you are authorized to access. YouPlot supports guest sessions and email-link sign-in; an email sign-in link should be treated as a private credential.
The minimum age, any parental-consent requirements and regional eligibility restrictions must be confirmed before release. An App Store age rating does not replace these eligibility terms.
03. AI stories and characters
Characters, dialogue and story events are fictional. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, unexpected, repetitive or unsuitable for your circumstances. A character is not a real person, and its responses do not represent a promise or statement by YouPlot.
The Service is intended for creative entertainment. Do not rely on a story or character for professional advice, emergency assistance or decisions affecting your safety or the rights of others.
Story availability and generated responses can vary. Illustrations and sample dialogue on the website demonstrate the experience and do not guarantee that a particular story is available in the app.
04. Your messages and content
You are responsible for the messages and other material you submit. Only provide content you have the right to use, and do not disclose another person’s confidential or personal information without appropriate permission.
The proposed permission for YouPlot to process your content is limited to operating the requested experience: receiving your input, generating replies, displaying conversations and making conversation history available to you. This draft does not grant a separate license to train AI models on your messages.
Final content-license terms, rights in generated output and any use for model improvement must be confirmed with the operator and its service providers before publication. Privacy handling is described in the Privacy Policy draft.
05. Acceptable use
Use the Service lawfully and respect other people’s rights. The proposed rules prohibit:
- Content involving sexual exploitation of children, threats of violence, targeted harassment or encouragement of serious harm.
- Fraud, impersonation, unlawful disclosure of personal information or infringement of intellectual-property rights.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access, distribute malicious code, disrupt the Service or bypass security and access controls.
- Automated extraction or resale of content without authorization.
You can use the report option on a story’s detail page to flag content for review. Reporting does not guarantee a particular outcome or response time.
06. The Service and its content
The YouPlot name, visual identity, application software and supplied story assets may be protected by intellectual-property rights. Access to the Service does not transfer ownership of those materials.
You may use the features made available to you for their intended purpose. Any permission to reuse, publish or commercially exploit Service content or generated output must be established in the final terms; this draft does not promise exclusive ownership of AI output.
07. Credits and paid features
The app may display a Credits balance or a cost for an action. A displayed balance does not by itself establish a cash value, transfer right or right to a refund.
This website does not offer purchases. If paid features are offered in the app, the price and applicable payment conditions must be shown before purchase. Purchase, subscription, expiration and refund rules must be confirmed before any such features are released; this draft does not establish them or limit mandatory consumer rights.
08. Availability and account closure
Features may change, be interrupted or become unavailable. Under the proposed terms, access may be restricted where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security issues or legal requirements. Any final suspension and appeal process must be specified before these terms take effect.
You can stop using the Service at any time. Logging out or uninstalling the app does not by itself request deletion of your account or server-held information. A verified contact and account-deletion process must be published before release.
09. Responsibility and your rights
AI output cannot be guaranteed to be accurate or appropriate in every situation. Evaluate it before relying on it, and stop an interaction that makes you uncomfortable.
Nothing in these proposed terms is intended to exclude rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Governing law, dispute procedures and any permitted limitations of liability require review for the operator’s supported regions; none are established by this draft.
10. Updates and contact
When final terms are issued, this page will state their effective date. Material changes should be communicated as required by applicable law, with additional acceptance where required.
Pending confirmation: the operator’s legal name, postal address and monitored support email. No unverified email address is provided in this draft.
